South African wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock has been fined 75 per cent of his match fee after he was found guilty of barging into Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal on the second day of the Chittagong Test.

ICC match referee Chris Broad on Thursday said that De Kock walked in front of the stumps to confront Tamim and in doing so he deliberately brushed Tamim's shoulder and rib area, Sport 24 reported.

He further insisted that this type of incident had no place in a cricket field and, therefore, De Kock was fined.

The incident occurred when Tamim, who played the last ball before lunch, was involved in a conversation with De Kock and it soon descended into shoulder-barging.
