Congress leader Manish Tewari on Sunday took a jibe at the BJP-PDP coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir, saying if the two parties can come together then the sun can rise from the west.

"If these two political parties can come together this clearly indicates that power is a very potent clue and someday the sun can rise from the west," Tewari told ANI.

The Congress leader pointed out the differences between the two parties on various aspects of governance.

"On one hand you have the BJP which has stood for the abrogation of Article 370 and on the other hand you have the PDP which wants Jammu and Kashmir to be governed in terms of the 1952 Delhi declaration, they want far more autonomy than what is available under the current constitutional scheme," said Tewari.

"BJP has been a very staunch advocate of the Armed Forces (Special Powers) act, whereas PDP stands for the immediate removal of the Armed Forces (Special Powers) act," he added.

Earlier in the day, PDP patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed was sworn-in as the chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir while BJP leader Nirmal Singh took oath as the state's deputy chief minister.
