Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Kumar Vishwas is likely to appear before the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) here on Tuesday over a complaint lodged against him by a female volunteer of his party.
Vishwas has been accused of having a physical relationship with a volunteer in the run-up to the 2014 Lok Sabha polls. Vishwas had unsuccessfully contested against Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi from Amethi in the general elections.
The victim, who has been living alone for the past one month, has alleged that Vishwas's wife has been spreading rumours that she found him in a compromising position with the poet-turned politician. She has also alleged that she is being defamed on social media.
The female volunteer had yesterday said that she wanted a clarification from the AAP leader on the matter.
"I appealed to him (Vishwas) to make it clear before the media that nothing happened between us and he condemns this allegation. He said that he will address a press conference and make it clear that I am like a younger sister to him. But later, he stopped responding, I wrote letters, got no reply. So, I was forced to file a complaint with the Women's Commission," she said.
"I participated as an AAP volunteer in the election campaign in 2014. Later, I saw a post on the social media in 2015 in which Kumar Vishwas's wife claimed that she caught us in a compromising position. When I confronted Kumar Vishwas, he asked me not to pay attention to this and not to make a big issue out of it," she added.
Vishwas had, however, yesterday termed the woman's allegations as baseless and put the onus on the Delhi Police which he said did not take any action on her complaint.

He also accused the media of twisting the entire story to malign the party's image.
"Stories are being planted (by media), wrong campaigning is being done, but such people have forgotten that they too have families. This is only being done to bring us down. But I will keep on fighting against such dirty politics, we are not going to be scared," said Vishwas.
According to reports, the victim's husband has threatened to divorce her.
