Former Pakistan cricketer and now head of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) party Imran Khan has vowed to support the cause of displaced people from North Waziristan during a visit to a refugee camp in Bannu.
The PTI party is currently in power in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Province, where Bannu District is located.
During his visit and interaction, his second since June 15, Imran also met with senior provincial officials and tribal elders to discuss arrangements being made for the displaced.
Khan maintained that the PTI Government had not been given prior information about the Zarb-e-Azb military operation of the Pakistan Army.
He said that the provincial government is experiencing some difficulties in meeting the emergency needs of the 750,000 displaced persons, but added that it would do its best to resolve all problems.
The Pakistan Army launched ground operations in North Waziristan on June 30, after two weeks of air strikes and artillery bombardment of insurgent targets.
