Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chiefs Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri have announced that the negotiations with the government will be ended after a crackdown on Friday when around 300 activists were picked up from across the capital Islamabad.

According to Dawn, Khan told Shah Mehmood Qureshi that talks with the government should come to a halt.

Qadri said that they had suspended the dialogue with the government as they had started arresting workers from the capital.

He said that it was a result of these arrests that all talks would be suspended.

Meanwhile, PTI General Secretary Jehangir Khan said that under the prevailing circumstances, it wasn't possible for the party to continue negotiations with the government.
