An interview with the co-author of Formula Money has revealed that conducting F1 races in Asia might have boosted its revenue share considerably, while the secret for F1's huge financial success remained the fees, which comes from the circuits, and is increased 10 percent annually in most cases.

According to CNN, F1 profits have gone up with revenues last year being 1.6 billion dollars, in comparison to 1.5 billion dollars in 2011, and 1.2 billion dollars in 2007/08.

The report said that F1 is the most watched sport in the world, with 500 million viewers a year, and circuits in Asia were paying more fees than the other races.

The author said that there was a risk of teams leaving F1 at the minute and barring Ferrari, McLaren and Red Bull, there were question marks over all the teams.
