Former union minister Kapil Sibal on Friday said that India can never be 'Congress Mukt' as it is based on the ideals and basics of the Constitution.
"India can never be 'Congress mukt' because the party is based on the Constitution. Congress ideology is based on basic ground of Constitution. Inclusive India and Secular India is the base of Constitution and how can you discard it," Sibal said.
Sibal added that 'Congress mukt bharat' means divisive, non secular and intolerant nation.
"Congress mukt bharat means BJP bharat where nobody has any relevance and that is something which can never happen," he added.
Sibal trained his guns at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not debating demonetisation, saying this is another failure of this government which talks about democracy and principles.
"They know that people are unhappy with demonetisation, but still they will not have discussion in the Rajya Sabha. This shows the mindset of the government and the Prime Minister in particular," he added.
