India-Canada co-production partnership in film making spelt out

The panelists were Stephane Cardin, VP Industry and Public Affairs, Canada Media Fund; Zaib Shaikh, Film Commissioner and Director of Entertainment Industries, City of Toronto; Sergio Navarretta, Producer, S.N.A.P. Films Inc.; Jonathan Ahee, President, Nabet 700-M Unifor; Saniya Ansari, Producer, QEW Films Inc. and Nitish Takia, Founder and CEO, Bioscopewala Pictures. The session was moderated by Mark Jones, Chair, School of Creative Arts and Animation, Seneca College.

The Canada-India Co-production Treaty came into force on July 1, 2014 under which a variety of financing sources across the country, including federal and provincial tax credits are offered. Canada offers a large pool of internationally recognized creators and technicians, high standard, full service production and post production facilities, four seasons and a multitude of locations and landscapes and the opportunities to work in either English or French, Canada's official languages.
