The India-Nordic Summit will see the Prime Minister of India and Denmark meeting after a long period of nine years, the Indian envoy to Denmark Ajit Gupte said on Monday.

"One of the highlights of the summit is that the Prime Ministers of India and Denmark will be meeting after nine years, it is a breakthrough meeting that will help to intensify the economic cooperation between both countries and take the relationship a step further," Gupte told ANI.

Gupte informed that 126 Danish companies have invested in India, till now and the summit will further give Denmark an opportunity to accelerate their investments here.

"Denmark is particularly strong in certain sectors, which is renewable energy, maritime shipping, agriculture and food processing, they are also very strong in water recycling so these are some of the unique advantages that Denmark has. The Nordic summit will provide a platform for Denmark to transfer the technical know-how and accelerate their investments in India," he said.

"Over the last three years, some of their big companies, few also being global leaders, have opened factories in India because they have realised that the rapidly growing Indian market is very attractive," he added.
