India and Japan on Monday condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, irrespective of their perpetrators, origin and motivations.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe emphasised that the evolving character of terrorism called for a stronger international partnership in combating terrorism, including through the increased sharing of information and intelligence.
They shared their concerns over the deteriorating security situation in various countries, and affirmed, in this regard, the importance for eliminating terrorist safe havens and infrastructures.

They also called for reinvigorating multilateral action on terrorism, including through the finalisation and adoption of the Comprehensive Convention on International Terrorism in the United Nations at the earliest, said the Tokyo Declaration for the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership.
