Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said India and Kyrgyzstan can do a lot together to keep both the nations safe and ensure peace in the region.
"We can do so much together to keep our nations safe, our region peaceful and our people on the path to prosperity," Prime Minister Modi said at a special luncheon hosted for him by Kyrgyzstan President Almazbek Atambayev.
"The Kyrgyz people have been at the crossroads of the flow of ideas, trade and religion through the ages," he added.
The Prime Minister further said that President Atambayev had led Kyrgyzstan with a vision on the path of democracy and development.
"You will always find in India solidarity," said Prime Minister Modi.
Meanwhile, President Atambayev said that India has a calling to become a great economic power like the United States and China.
India and Kyrgyzstan earlier signed agreements in four key areas, including defence cooperation and cultural preservation.
