Extending his greetings and felicitations to the government and people of the Republic of Angola on the eve of their National Day, President Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday said New Delhi looks forward to sustained high-level contacts with Luanda with a view to further widen the expanding bilateral engagement.

In his message to Jose Eduardo Dos Santos, the President of the Republic of Angola, President Mukherjee said, "On behalf of the Government, the people of India and on my own behalf, it gives me great pleasure to convey to you, to the Government and the people of the Republic of Angola warm greetings and felicitations on the occasion of your National Day."

President Mukherjee said India and Angola have traditionally enjoyed warm and friendly relations, adding that the economic content of our engagement has increased substantially in recent years.

"Angola is now India's second largest source for crude oil imports from Africa. We look forward to sustained high level contacts with Angola with a view to further widen our expanding bilateral engagement," President Mukherjee said.

"Excellency, my good wishes for your personal health and well-being, as well as for the progress and prosperity of the friendly people of the Republic of Angola," said President Mukherjee.
