Nepal's Minister for Home and Foreign Affairs Madhav Prasad Ghimire met his Indian counterpart Salman Khurshid on Wednesday in an attempt to boost bilateral ties between the two nations.

Ghimire is on a three-day goodwill visit to India.

He also met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. This is said to be Ghimire's first official visit to India after the formation of the interim government in Nepal last year in March.

His visit is meant to focus on strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations.

Ghimire is also likely to meet Union Home Minister, Sushil Kumar Shinde, during his visit.

The Nepal Foreign Minister had played an important role in holding the November 19 Constituent Assembly elections by bringing on board all major political forces in the poll process.
