U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry has reportedly warned that the recent spike in tension between India and Pakistan should not make some entities feel 'empowered'.
While briefing the press after a telephonic conversation with Pakistan's Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Kerry said that he had discussed the issue with the Pakistani leader, reported the Dawn.
A State Department official said that Washington was also in touch with New Delhi 'at the highest level'.
Alarmed by the recent spate of threats and counter-threats exchanged between India and Pakistan, the U.S. has initiated a diplomatic offensive to urge the two nations to ease tensions and resume talks.
