India's Shelly Maheshwari Gupta crowned third princess at Mrs Universal - Elegance 2017, London

India's Shelly Maheshwari Gupta, representing as Mrs. Asia Pacific was crowned 3rd Princess Universal Elegance at the prestigious Mrs. Universal 2017 held in London recently.

The international beauty pageant saw the Indian win laurels for her nation after multiple rounds of overall personality, poise, grace, community service and social awareness in the glittering finale held at the upscale Richmond hotel in London, UK. This coveted title adds another star to her glittering crown after winning the National pageant Mrs. India and Mrs. Asia Pacific-Universal 2017 by Damesai.

Mrs. Universal 2017 pageant witnessed top 40 women descending from all over the world, representing their countries, where Kirsty Fletcher of Great Britain won the crown of Mrs. Universal - Elegance 2017. Organised by Yellow Diamond Productions and the Mrs. USA Universal pageant, Mrs. Universal is the international pageant with affiliates in over 40 countries and considered among the top 10 pageants in the world.

"Lots of things have changed for the married women in India. They are more educated and open-minded and have more freedom to pursue their dreams and profession of their choice. I think this title for me opens up doors of several opportunities where I can show my different facets to the society, be it the domestic front or representing my nation at the International platform. As my future goals, I would like to focus on women's education in the country, so that one day they can open their eyes to the wide world, make qualified choices, gain financial freedom and stand up against social injustice," said Shelly.
