India on Monday test-fired its indigenously developed nuclear-capable Prithvi-II missile from the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Chandipur.

According to reports, the surface-to-surface missile was test fired from a mobile launcher at about 9.14 a.m.

The launch was part of a regular training exercise.

It is the first indigenously developed nuclear missile with a range of 350 km and is capable of carrying 500-1,000 kg of warheads.

The last user trial of Prithvi-II was successfully carried out from the same base on August 12, 2013.
