India will shut down its camp office at Biratnagar in Morang district from August 1, the Indian embassy in Kathmandu said on Tuesday.
In a statement issued by the embassy read as "all services including issuance of motor vehicle permits, registration certificates for Indian nationals and attestation of documents, among other miscellaneous services (birth/death registrations) being rendered by Biratnagar-based camp office of Indian Embassy will cease with effect from August 1".
"For any services, hitherto being rendered by Embassy of India Camp Office, Biratnagar, please contact Embassy of India, Kathmandu with effect from August 1," the statement added.
According to the Kathmandu Post, the camp office in Biratnagar was opened in 2008 to deal with the situation arising out of devastating Koshi floods.
