Indian agrochemical products improve agriculture activity in Nepal

City based Krishi Rasayan Exports has been exporting agrochemicals to Nepal consistently for fructifying development in agriculture.

The Krishi Rasayan exports is in continuous process of up gradation and manufacturing of agrochemicals products like insecticide, herbicides, fungicides and PGR (Plant Growth Regulators) for public health and domestic purpose.

In India there are seven factories which are located strategically in Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Gujarat and Maharashtra catering to the needs of agro based economy in Nepal.

Indian agrochemicals have helped in Nepal's agricultural growth that has up surged Nepal market from 6 to 7 million USD.

India has been a regular partner in supplying agrochemicals to Nepal and also helps the farmers by educating and training them to use the agrochemical products judiciously.

"We have been exporting to Nepal for the last seventeen years. We are exporting lot of products and Nepal agriculture is also growing within the last seventeen years. Earlier the market size used to be very small but now for the last fifteen years. The market has grown considerably and today Nepal market is close to 6-7 million USD," said, Rajesh Kumar Aggarwal, Executive Director (Rasayan Exports Pvt. Ltd.).

Indian agrochemical has been helping to boost agronomy in Nepal.

"In Nepal, as such there is no factory who manufactures agrochemicals. All the products to Nepal are majorly going from India as well as little bit is coming from China. So whatever products India is developing we are trying to place the same in the Nepal market. Secondly, we are having our people based in Nepal who are working at the farmer's level. We are educating them to use better products better agrochemicals so that we can improve their productivity," added, Rajesh Kumar Aggarwal, Executive Director (Rasayan Exports Pvt. Ltd.).

The agriculturists in Nepal are using more and more of herbicides and weedicides.

"We are the closest neighbour to Nepal and we have three or four borders touching Nepal. We can work in a much better way in Nepal because lots of Indian people are residing there as well as local Nepali citizens. Access to Nepal market is very crucial for a country like India for the trade also because the market is there and we can supply the products in the shortest possible time in Nepal," said Rajesh Kumar Aggarwal, Executive Director (Rasayan Exports Pvt. Ltd.).

India's developmental assistance to Nepal has been growing rapidly.
