Two DLF Scholars, under the category of 'Sports and Arts', scholarship, won Gold and Bronze medal at the Asia Pacific Games held at Newcastle, Australia, which was took place from November 28 to December 8, last year.
DLF Foundation partnered with Special Olympics Bharat- Delhi, under the aegis of National Sports Federation for People with Intellectual Disabilities to enable them to participate at the Asia Pacific Games in Newcastle.
Sachin and Kawalpreet Kaur, two intellectually-disabled youth have garnered global acclaim with their remarkable performance at the Asia Pacific Games.
Sachin won the bronze medal in 100 m race category while Kawalpreet Kaur has bagged the gold in the 100 m race.
Their talent was given the extra boost by DLF Foundation, who sponsored their participation to Asia Pacific Games 2013, Newcastle, Australia.
Commenting on their achievements, the champions- Sachin and Kawalpreet Kaur said, "We are extremely happy at the turn of events and are very thankful to DLF Foundation for sponsoring our participation to 2013 Asia Pacific Games which gave us a chance to represent our country and bring two medals home. We would like to participate in more such events, keep winning and bring more laurels to our country.''

CEO, DLF Foundation Lt Gen. Rajender Singh said that the organization is extremely proud of the Sachin and Kawalpreet's performance and achievements, and added that the two children have made India proud.

In the past, Kawalpreet Kaur has won many medals at the state level competitions of Special Olympics Bharat while Sachin has won gold medal in the Delhi State Championship in 2012 and also attended Athletics National Coaching Camp, preparatory camp for the Asia Pacific Games.
DLF Foundation has always extended a helping hand for the underprivileged students and has been in the forefront for the promotion of sports and extra curricular activities.
