Indian men's hockey team, led by midfielder Saradara Singh, on Sunday left for Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.
The Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games will be held from July 23 to August 03 and more than 6,500 athletes and officials from 71 nations and territories will compete in 17 sports.
India will field 224 member contingents at 2014 CWG Glasgow.
The Indian hockey team will play its opening game against Wales on July 25, followed by matches against hosts Scotland, Australia and South Africa during the tournament.
Singh and team's coach Terry Walsh sounded confident, and said they were looking forward to the challenge.
Singh said his team had shown good performance in the World Cup with considerable improvement in their play and was hoping for a good show at the Games.
"All the players are ready for this tournament. We have worked on our weak points as well as tried to improve upon the mistakes that we made in the World Cup tournaments. We are hopeful that we will give our best in the tournament," he said.

Meanwhile, Indian Women's Hockey team has already departed for the games on July 09.
The Glasgow Games will have 17 sports and 261 medal events.
Walsh said the key objective at the Games will be to play world class hockey in every match.
"We are ready to perform. Looking forward for the start of the tournament," he said.
The team captain Singh with 186 Caps and vice-captain P R Sreejesh having 100 caps are hopeful that India will come in the medal tally.
Other team members include defenders -Gurbaj Singh, Birendra Lakra, Rupinder Pal Singh, Kothajit Singh,V R Raghunath (160 Caps), Midfielders -Dharamvir Singh, Danish Mujtaba, Chinglensana Singh Kangujam, Forwards -Manpreet Singh, Ramandeep Singh, Akashdeep Singh, S V Sunil,Gurwinder Singh Chandi and Nikkin Thimmaiah.
