South Africa Twenty20 captain Faf du Plessis and pacer Dale Steyn may reportedly miss their teams opening match against Sri Lanka due to their respective injuries.
The skipper is reportedly rated as having only a '50-50' chance of playing in South Africa's first match against Sri Lanka in the World T20 tournament while Steyn's hamstring problem, which he sustained during the third Test against Australia, is still troubling him.
According to News.com.au, both the captain and the pacer were not selected for the team's final warm-up match against Pakistan and Steyn had 'mildly aggravated' his hamstring earlier this week during the team's warm-up match against Bangladesh A.
Cricket South Africa (CSA) revealed that a decision on the players' fitness would be made shortly ahead of the team's opener against Sri Lanka.
ODI captain AB de Villiers would likely spearhead the South Africa's T20 squad against Sri Lanka in Chittagong, if Du Plessis is not deemed fit for the opening match, the report added.
