Injured Australian all-rounder James Faulkner is reportedly content 'sitting on the pine' and waiting for an opportunity to again play for his country.
An opponent of the rotation policy, Faulkner has not been able to realise his Ashes dream after fracturing his thumb during batting practice ahead of the third Test in Perth, and an unchanged line-up for the past three Tests also has not given Faulkner a chance to consolidate his form heading into the series.
According to News.com.au, current coach Darren Lehmann is not a fan of the rotation policy controversially employed by his predecessor Mickey Arthur, which was fine with Faulkner, who said that a player does not give games away playing for his country and as such, needs to earn his place.
Faulkner further said that he is happy to bide his time 'sitting on the pine' and wait for an opportunity to play again for Australia, adding that he has no set date for his return, although he is hoping that it would be 'sooner rather than later'.
