Interpol has suspended its 'Integrity' pact with FIFA, and would not use the 20 million Euro donation it had received in 2011 to fight match-fixing in sports.

Interpol has taken this decision over allegations of corruption against the football governing body.

Interpol chief Juergen Stock said in a statement that in the light of the current controversy surrounding FIFA, he has decided to suspend the agreement, the BBC has reported.

He added that all external partners, whether public or private, must share the fundamental values and principles of the organisation, as well as those of the wider law enforcement community.

The 10-year "Integrity in Sport" agreement was intended to combat match-fixing and illegal gambling.
