United States President Donald Trump on Wednesday said Attorney General Jeff Sessions should investigate former president Barack Obama as the Russian meddling in the 2016 election took place during his administration.
President Trump took to Twitter and said, "Question: If all of the Russian meddling took place during the Obama Administration, right up to January 20th, why aren't they the subject of the investigation? Why didn't Obama do something about the meddling? Why aren't Dem crimes under investigation? Ask Jeff Sessions!"
Earlier this week, President Trump underscored that Russians are "laughing their asses off in Moscow" for the way Washington has handled the Russia investigations and urged Americans to "get smart."
His comments come after 13 Russian nationals and three Russian groups were charged with multiple counts of attempting to interfere in the 2016 election.
Russia, however, has denied meddling in the election campaign and Trump has called Mueller's probe a "political witch hunt.
