Indian pacer Ishant Sharma is all set to join Kings XI Punjab for the tenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), beginning April 5.
Confirming the news, former Indian opener and Kings XI's head of cricket operations Virender Sehwag said that Ishant would now be a part of the Punjab-based franchise and that he would be arriving Indore later in the day.
Sehwag revealed the decision has been taken keeping in mind the importance of bowling factor in the game, maintaining that it is good bowling which often plays a vital role in winning the match.
Talking about the overall squad, the opening batsman said that it would consist of five bowlers and six batsmen.
Sehwag, who believes that IPL provides a great opportunity for the youngsters to cement their place in the national squad, said Kings XI are currently languishing down in the table and, therefore, they would try their best to improve their performances.
Ishant went unsold in the IPL auctions held in Bengaluru last month after setting a base price of Rs 2 crores.
Kings XI will now be the fifth franchise Ishant will be playing for in 10 seasons, having previously also played for Kolkata Knight Riders, Deccan Chargers, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rising Pune Supergiants.
