About 2,500 police personnel will be deployed at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium at Uppal, Hyderabad for the Indian Premier League (IPL) matches to be held between April 9 and May 19.
About 250 security men, 329 traffic cops, 1,038 law and order policemen, six armed forces units, Octopus, mounted police along with five fire tenders with fire fighting squad will be deployed at the stadium, said Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh M. Bhagwat.
He further informed that the stadium with a capacity for 38,000 people, will also have 100 CCTV cameras.
"From April 9, there are seven matches in Hyderabad. Six matches will held at night time from 8pm to 11pm, while one of the matches on April 22 will be starting at 4pm for which we have made sufficient bandobast arrangements, say around 2,500 people," Bhagwat told ANI.
He added, "We have installed CCTV cameras also. There will be secuity teams like mounted police, octopus and other wings to help police in arrangements. We also had a meeting with the organisers of the event and we are taking all precautions to make this IPL season successful."
The 11th edition of the IPL will begin from April 7.
