Iran has started curbing uranium enrichment under a nuclear deal reached with the world powers, the UN nuclear watchdog said.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said that the United States and the European Union have responded by lifting some sanctions on Iran for six months, so that Tehran can resume export of petrochemicals, the BBC reports.
According to the report, other sanctions affecting the trade in gold and other precious metals, as well as the car industry, will also be lifted.
The US estimated that the relief could amount to some 7 billion dollars, the report added.
