Iran's Ambassador to India, Gholamreza Ansari, has announced to promote yoga in his country.
Ansari, who visited the Patanjali Yogpeeth campus of Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev in Haridwar yesterday, said that yoga could connect and strengthen ties between both countries.
"Herbal medicine is very respected in Iran. So, we can find ways how we can put these two sides together for joint venture for better cooperation between this center and the Iranian center which are very active and very popular in Iran," said Ansari.
Ramdev on his part said that Iran was planning to set up a yoga center like Patanjali for promoting the country's traditions of spirituality, yoga and ayurveda.
"Gholamreza Ansari is the first ambassador of any Islamic country who has visited Patanajali Yogpeeth. He seriously plans to do something regarding yoga, ayurveda and other traditional practices," said Ramdev.
