With Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani spotting a CCTV camera inside the changing room of a famous apparel brand in Goa, Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chairperson Barkha Shukla Singh on Friday expressed serious concern over the issue and said that the government should ensure that such incidents do not take place in other places.
"This matter should be taken very seriously. The government should make sure that such incidents don't take place in other places," she told ANI here.
The DCW chief asserted that such incidents have happened in Delhi a couple of times.
The HRD Minister was shopping at the "Fabindia" store in Candolim when she noticed the camera near the trial room. The camera was installed in a way that it focused on the trial room.
Irani then alerted her husband and called BJP Calangute MLA Michael Lobo, who stays in the vicinity of the clothing boutique.
An First Information Report (FIR) has been registered in connection with the incident.
