The 29-year-old bassist from the Iranian indie rock band The Yellow Dogs reportedly killed himself after slaughtering three of his band members, including two brothers, over being ousted from the group.
Raefe Ahkbar was fired by the group after he was found stealing equipment from the band about a year ago.
The frustration drove the musician, who also played for another underground band, the Free Keys, to use his black .308-caliber rifle and shoot at the band members, after hopping several rooftops to locate them, New York Post reports.
The fatal head shot killed graffiti artist and musician Ali Eskandarian, and then Ahkbar targeted drummer Arash Farazmand.
The maniac musician then went to the second floor of the building and shot guitarist Soroush Farazmand before shooting another member Sasan Sadeghpourosko twice in the arm.
With one bullet left in his weapon, Ahkbar headed to the roof of the building to kill himself with a bullet to the head.
Meanwhile, two other members of the band lead singer Siavash "Obash" Karampour and bassist Koory Mirz, were saved as they were not present at the location of the incidence.
The report said that the victims had sought asylum in the US, since rock music is considered taboo in Iran and the band's PR representative said that the dispute between the members was a very petty issue and they all had been friends.
Fans offered condolences on the social media after the carnage.
