Iraq crisis will affect oil prices: Mayawati(Amended)

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Mayawati said here on Friday that the ongoing crisis in Iraq will have a telling impact on international oil prices.

"There is no denying that due to the ongoing crisis in Iraq, it will have an impact on oil prices in international markets. It will have an adverse affect on India also. The government has to be alert enough to tackle this problem," said Mayawati in an exclusive interview to ANI.

Indian is one of the biggest importers of oil.

Earlier today Indian National Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyer had also predicted an increase in oil prices because of the ongoing crisis in Iraq.

Iraq is confronting a major terrorist violence, especially in Mousul and Tirkit.
