At least 21 people were killed and several others wounded after a female suicide bomber blew herself up in a market south of the capital Baghdad on Friday, according to media reports.
The attack which occurred as people were out shopping during Ramadan, the Muslim holy month of fasting, came hours after a bomb exploded in the Shiite holy city of Karbala near Mussayyib wounding at least four people.
The ISIS claimed responsibility for the attacks.
Musayyib and Karbala are predominantly Shiite Muslim, a sect that IS considers heretics.
