Ireland first team to qualify for 2015 Cricket World Cup after tie with Netherlands

Ireland has reportedly become the first team to qualify for the 2015 Cricket World Cup after a tie-match with the Netherlands in Amsterdam.

According to Telegraph.com.au, the tie meant that Ireland is now guaranteed one of the two qualifying spots from the ICC World Cricket League Championship for the 2015 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

The report further said that the Netherlands have also been put in a strong position to take the other qualifying berth, with the result.

Meanwhile, the report said that Ireland's Ed Joyce had top-scored for his side with an unbeaten 96 in the team's competitive total of 5-268, adding that Dutch player Michael Rippon stole the show for his team by smashing the last two balls of the match for four and six to bring the Netherlands level off their 50 overs.
