Ireland has given hope of reviving international cricket in Pakistan after it reportedly agreed to consider visiting the country to reciprocate Pakistan's one-day international (ODI) tour of Ireland.

At a time when all the Test playing nations have written-off touring Pakistan, the International Cricket Council's (ICC) associate member Cricket Ireland (CI) gave a positive response on that subject to the Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) request for a reciprocal visit, the Express Tribune reports.

Showing interest in sending the team to Pakistan, CI chief executive Warren Deutrom said that the PCB has proved to be a strong supporter of their game as they have agreed to play in Ireland on a number of occasions over the last few years, for which they are grateful.

According to Deutrom, he has told PCB that CI would be willing to contemplate a reciprocal visit, provided that they have the requisite comfort levels around safety and security levels during their time there.

Pakistan will travel to Dublin this week to play a couple of One-Day Internationals (ODI) in Ireland this week, the report added.
