Congress Rajya Sabha MP Ahmed Patel on Saturday hit back at Union Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Giriraj Singh for his remark on the party president Rahul Gandhi's abroad visit, saying that it is a'profession' of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to make needless comments.
Speaking to ANI, Patel also termed Singh's comment as baseless and said that it is not a crime to visit one's grandmother.
"Absolutely baseless, is it a crime for someone to visit his own grandmother? There are people here in Congress to handle the party in his absence," Patel said.
"It has become a profession for him to make unnecessary comments," he added.
Another Congress leader Kamal Nath also lashed out at Singh for his remark and advised him to take more care about the leaders of his own party.
"Giriraj Singh should talk about the leaders of his own party. He should stay within the limits of his political knowledge," Nath said.
