A rights group has said that the Islamic State (IS) has released 25 Kurdish schoolchildren who were kidnapped by the group in May.

United Kingdom-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said that the 25 children were the last to be released from a group of 150 abducted in northern Syria, reported the BBC.

The IS kidnapped Kurdish schoolchildren while they were returning to their hometown, Kobane, after taking exams in the city of Aleppo.

The release came amid ongoing clashes between the terror group and the Kurdish forces in the Syrian town of Kobane.
