The Muslim brotherhood has resorted to violent tactics after attempting to blame Egypt's Coptic Christian community for the recent ousting of President Mohammed Morsi, in an effort to gain back power.
According to Fox News, sectarian attacks against Copts by Islamic extremists are on the rise since Morsi was ousted on July 3, and the community suggested that they were subject to consistent attacks from Islamist radicals after campaigning against the Muslim Brotherhood-backed President.
Nine Christians have been killed throughout the country, including one priest in the Sinai Peninsula, with many other Coptic clergy gone into hiding, the report said.
In addition, over a dozen Christian churches were attacked and damaged and Coptic-owned businesses were subject to vandalism, the report added.
