Israeli foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman has proposed to offer monetary incentives to Arab citizens who identify themselves as Palestinians to encourage them to surrender their Israeli citizenship and move to the future Palestinian state.
According to the Jerusalem Post, Liberman proposed it on the Israel Beytenu website in an updated version of his party's platform.
Liberman said that such an arrangement should be done to "solve the problem of duality" that people face.
Under such a proposal, the people of Israel would be able to decide if they are part of the State of Israel or Palestine, said Liberman.
The foreign minister said that such an arrangement could be impactful in the predominantly Arab populations in the so-called Triangle region, Wadi Ara, cities with large Arab and Jewish populaces such as Jaffa and Akko.
