Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, currently in Tel Aviv, on Wednesday met Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who assured him that his country will collaborate with the Indian state to help combat agrarian crisis.
Later, Fadnavis took to twitter to share the information.
"Had a great meeting with @IsraeliPM Hon Benjamin Netanyahu in presence of Israeli AgricultureMinister Hon Yair Shamir," he tweeted.
"PM Netanyahu has agreed for collaboration with Maharashtra in field of agriculture specially to combat agrarian crisis inVidarbha and Marathwada," he added.
Fadnavis also invited Prime Minister Netanyahu to cooperate with Maharashtra in various other sectors, including manufacturing, internal security, cyber security.
"I also stressed upon the fact that Maharashtra has immense opportunity in manufacturing, engineering and aerospace which he acknowledged," he tweeted.
Defence and agriculture are the two main pillars of bilateral engagement between India and Israel. India has benefited from Israeli expertise and technologies in horticulture mechanisation, protected cultivation, orchard and canopy management, nursery management, micro- irrigation and post-harvest management, with 27 centres of excellence at various stages of development across the country.
