Actor Chaim Topol, who gained fame from movies namely 'Fidler on the Roof' and 'Flash Gordon', has been honoured with Israel Award for lifetime achievement.
The Israeli actor has also won a Golden Globe and an Oscar nomination for the 1971 film, after first playing the character on the West End stage and later on Broadway, the BBC reported.
The 79-year-old actor also got recognised for his role in the James Bond movie titled 'For Your Eyes Only' where he played Roger Moore's wingman.
The actor started his career in the 1950s when he joined a theatrical troupe in the Israeli army.
