Commenting on the participation of Chinese troops in Pakistan Day Celebration in Islamabad, security analyst Brigadier (Retd.) S.K. Chatterji said Thursday it is a friendly gesture being adopted by countries all across the globe.
"It is in fashion these days. All the countries are doing this with the friendly nations. We recently had troops from Oman, which got the honour of leading India's Republic Day parade," Brigadier (Retd.) Chatterji told ANI.
Responding to a poser on separatist leader Asiya Andarabi waiving Pakistan flag and celebrating Pakistan Day in Srinagar, Chatterji said these are aimed at attracting eyeballs and gaining media attention.
She led around 15 members of the Dukhtaran-e-Millat group on Thursday and organized a function in Srinagar to celebrate the National Day of Pakistan.
"This is to gain attention of media. She has been out of media since long. Also, this will have negative effect on the youth who may get motivated to join terrorist groups," he said.
"Now, we have to see where do we stop this, at this raising of Pakistan Flag or to allow the people there to raise even the IS flags," he added.
The Pakistan Day marks the historic event of 1940, when the Lahore Resolution was passed demanding a separate homeland for Muslims of the subcontinent.
