Italian women's cup final got cancelled after a top footie chief allegedly branded female players "a bunch of lesbians".
Women's sports supremo Luisa Rizzitelli said that to be honest at first, she thought it was a joke but when they realised it wasn't a joke they immediately wrote to the federation to ask for an immediate investigation, the Daily Star reported.
Rizzitelli continued that all the players have said to the federation that they did not want to play the final, so now the game was not going ahead.
Felice Belloli, president of Italy's amateur football association, has denied making the controversial comments.
The controversy has led to an outburst among the female footballers and has led to the women's cup final in Italy being postponed.
Female football players have also demanded the resignation of Belloli.
