A new study has revealed that sex is the key to a happy married life.
Researchers Adena Galinsky and Linda J. Waite from the University of Chicago found that men and women who were sexually inactive or engaged in very little sexual activity reported lower levels of marital satisfaction, while couples who had more frequent sexual encounters were happier and had more positive marriages, Huffington Post reported.
The researchers have said that the findings suggest that it is important for older adults to find ways to stay engaged in sexual activity, even as health problems render familiar forms of sexual interaction difficult or impossible.
The study was published in The Journals of Gerontology: Series B.
