Paytm, India's largest mobile commerce platform, has announced a special initiative to provide assistance to the victims of the Jammu and Kashmir floods.

Paytm has decided to reach out to the community and extend a helping hand for the rescue and rehabilitation efforts being made in the Kashmir Valley with its relief fund.

As the water levels in the valley recede and the clean-up begins, Jammu and Kashmir faces the enormous challenge of rehabilitation and keeping diseases at bay. Paytm will match each donation rupee for rupee through this fund. The combined proceeds will be then forwarded directly to the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund.

Vijay Shekhar Sharma, CEO Paytm, said, "At Paytm, we believe in contributing towards the society and assisting our nation. We aim to fulfill the same objective with the Kashmir Relief Fund. The most beautiful valley in the world is in the grip of the worst floods in decades and has witnessed rampant destruction of property and life. We enlist the help of our valued patrons to come forward and donate generously through our platform."

"While paying your bill or making recharge payment on Paytm, you will be given an option of donating via coupons of values ranging from Rs 10 to Rs 500. You can select the amount of contribution and pay the collective sum along with your recharge or bill amount," he added.

Paytm is India's largest mobile commerce platform.
