The Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department organised a 'Mudzilla Car Race', a two-day event in Ompora area of Budgam district here.
Around fifty motor sport enthusiasts participated in the auto cross event.
Hundreds of spectators were amused to see racing vehicles moving over the muddy uneven stretch at the venue.
"Barring motor sports, there is everything in Kashmir. In order to attract tourists this event has been organized and it has been successful. Our main objective is to show good image of this beautiful Valley," Farah Zaidi said, adding that scores of adventure sports lovers participated in this event.
The participants were competing on a specially created mud and slush obstacle race track.
According to the organizers, the main aim of the event was to give all motor sporting enthusiasts a sample of yet another form of off-road fun and to boost adventure tourism in the Kashmir valley.

Organizer of the event Ali Sajid told ANI, "Mudzilla would be an annual calendar event and hope it would boost motorsport in the valley and build a strong community of motorsport enthusiasts in the region."
He said such events can put Kashmir on the national motor sporting map to boost adventure tourism in the Valley.
