Several people evacuated the villages located in Balakot region of Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district on Sunday due to heavy firing and shelling by the Pakistani troops.
The locals said that they were advised by the army personnel to take refuge in safer places.
"Army has advised us to evacuate the area immediately, so we are leaving for safer places," said one of the villagers.
Heavy shelling and firing by Pakistani troops along the Line of Control in Poonch district left six civilians dead and 15 others injured.
Firing and shelling in entire Balakot sector again broke out this morning. Heavy firing and shelling in Poonch Sector is continuing since midnight last night.
Panic has been prevailing among the people living along the border and they have started migrating towards safer places.
