Bharatiya Janata Party's Ravinder Raina on Tuesday won from the Nowshera assembly constituency in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections, defeating his nearest rival, People Democratic Party's (PDP) Surender Choudhary, by 9,503 votes.
Raina was allegedly attacked last week by the PDP workers.
As per latest trends in Jammu and Kashmir, PDP is leading with 29 seats, BJP with 25, Congress with 11, Jammu and Kashmir National Conference with 16 seats.
So far in Jammu and Kashmir, PDP's Altaf Bukhari has defeated BJP's Hina Bhat in Amirakadal, National Conference's Omar Abdullah lost in Sonwar but won from Beerwah, Sajjad Lone of the People's Conference has won from Handwara and PDP's Mufti Mohd Sayeed has won from Anantnag constituency.
