Firing salvos at Congress leader Jairam Ramesh, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday asked the former to quit politics if he fails to prove his 'baseless' allegations against Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje.
"If Jairam Ramesh proves through documents that Dholpur Palace belongs to Rajasthan Government, I'll resign or he should. Jairam Ramesh should quit politics if he can't prove his baseless allegations," BJP leader Rajendra Rathore said at a press conference here.
The Congress party had earlier accused Raje's son Dushyant Singh of taking compensation money for the Dholpur Palace, a government property.
It had also accused Raje of illegally occupying the Dholpur Palace along with former IPL chief Lalit Modi through a private company.
Jairam Ramesh had reportedly claimed that Raje's estranged husband had admitted before a court that the palace was the property of the Rajasthan government.
