Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Mulayam Singh Yadav's meeting with Janata Dal (United) (JD (U))chief Sharad Yadav and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on Friday to discuss issues related to the 'Janata Parivar' strategies ahead of the Bihar Assembly reportedly remained inconclusive.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who was supposed to attend the meeting, did not turn up citing an eye surgery as the reason.
Janata Dal (United) leader K C Tyagi had earlier in the day said that the meeting was convened to sort out the issue of seat sharing between his party and the RJD.
According to reports, Nitish was unhappy with the RJD's demand for more seats under the alliance and Lalu Prasad's efforts to join hands with former Bihar chief minister and expelled JD (U) leader Jitan Ram Manjhi.
Last month, the six parties, including SP, JD (U), RJD, JD(S) and INLD had announced their merger declaring Mulayam Singh Yadav as the president of the new political outfit.
The name, election symbol, party flag and policies of the new party is yet to be decided.
