Japan's ruling coalition has again won a two-thirds majority in parliamentary elections which were dubbed as a referendum on Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's economic policies.
Abe's Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) retained its House of Representatives along with the Buddhist-backed Komeito party by winning 325 seats out of 475. While the LDP won 290 seats, Komeito took 35, reported the BBC.
Abe called the snap vote to garner support for his economic reforms.
The main opposition party, the Democratic Party of Japan, won 73 seats.
